About

North Uist Historical Society is based at Taigh Chearsabhaigh in Lochmaddy which opened in 1995 where it operates a museum and archive room.  The museum display changes on annual basis and the archive room offers public access to the Historical Society‚Äôs photograph collection relating to North Uist along with information on past exhibitions.

  • Photographic archive arranged by township and/or subject.  Over 5000 are images held
